German A2.1 Online Course – Learn German easily and effectively
Welcome to our German A2.1 online course! This course is for anyone who already knows a little German and wants to improve their language skills. If you have completed A1 and are ready to learn more, then this course is just right for you. You can learn from the comfort of your own home or anywhere else you like.
Who can participate?
Our course is for people who already have some knowledge of German. You can understand and speak simple sentences. You want to feel more confident speaking, writing and understanding German in everyday life. The course is suitable for:
- People who work in Germany or other countries.
- Students who are learning German for school or university.
- Anyone who simply wants to speak and understand German.
- No matter why you are learning, our course will give you everything you need.
Course objectives
After completing the course, you will be able to:
- communicate in many everyday situations, for example at the supermarket, at the doctor’s, when travelling or at work,
- have simple conversations about family, work, leisure and hobbies,
- read and understand short texts such as emails or letters,
- apply the most important grammar rules of the A2 level,
- better understand when others speak German,
- tell simple stories or experiences yourself.
Course structure
The course has 4 lessons per week, each lasting 90 minutes. That’s 6 hours per week. The course lasts 8 weeks, for a total of 48 lessons.
Each lesson is well planned. We practise:
- Speaking
- Listening
- Reading
- Writing
- Grammar
- Vocabulary
Lessons are online, via Zoom, Google Meet or MS Teams. This means you can participate from anywhere.
We recommend 6–10 participants per group. This ensures that everyone gets enough attention. All you need is a computer or tablet and internet access.
Course schedule
Week 1: We review A1 topics. You will learn simple sentences, important words and grammar. Then we will start with A2 topics, e.g. everyday life, family and leisure.
Weeks 2–4: We learn new words and grammar. Topics: shopping, travel, health, work. Grammar: perfect tense, subordinate clauses with ‘weil’ and ‘dass’, dative and accusative. We practise dialogues, role plays and simple texts.
Weeks 5–7: We talk about more topics: living, making appointments, expressing opinions. Grammar: comparative forms, separable verbs in the perfect tense, future tense I. We also practise writing short texts and listen to real conversations in German.
Week 8: Revision and exam preparation. We revise all topics. There are short tests for practice. Everyone receives feedback. At the end, you will receive a certificate showing your new knowledge.
Learning methods
Our course is practical and interactive. You will speak a lot. There are partner exercises, group exercises, listening and reading exercises, and short writing tasks. You will learn German by doing, not just by listening.
We use a variety of materials: digital books, online exercises, audio files, and short tests. This allows you to practise independently at home or on the go. You can ask questions and get answers directly from the teacher.

Requirements
- You should have already completed German at A1 level. This means you can introduce yourself, ask simple questions, and have short everyday conversations. You understand simple sentences used in daily life.
- You should be able to read and understand short texts, such as simple emails, messages, or small advertisements.
- You should be able to speak in simple sentences, for example about your family, your work, or your daily routine.
- You should be able to write short texts, such as a short message, an invitation, or a few sentences about your day.
- You should be able to read and write the Latin alphabet confidently.
- You should be ready to attend the online classes regularly and practice a little at home. Regular practice is important for your learning success.
- You will also need a smartphone, tablet, or computer with internet access, as well as a microphone and a camera for the online classes.
- If you are not sure whether A2.1 is the right level for you, you can take a short placement test before the course begins.
